Thanks Bill and everyone,

I booted from Disk Warrior and
Rebuilt the directory.

Report: 
1. "The boot Blocks are damaged and will be repaired after replacing the directory."

2. "The System folder was blessed."  (I'd never seen that in a report till now Bill!)

First reboot was successful.
