We never found out what system was on the SM that
would not boot.

I have OS 7.6.1 on my SMs, on which I have Norton Disk
Doctor 3.2.4. I generally run Disk Doctor, without the
media check, every time I shut down the computer, to
get rid of the little problems before they become big
problems. I have yet to have Disk Doctor damage my
hard drive. However, I have seen Disk Doctor totally
destroy hard drives with systems not compatible with
the Disk Doctor version being used.

When my computer, on rare occassions, would not boot
from the hard drive, I would boot from another disk
and then run Disk Warrior, Tech Tools and Norton Disk
Doctor, in that order.
