[stone] Stone angel

I am a writer trying to clarify some details.
If I had a  stone angel in my back garden, what
type of stone would  it be made of? - I don't
want marble, I want roughish  stone, could it be
granite? If the stone came from  Italy, what
part of Italy would it be likely to come from?

I hope somebody can help me.
