I've created bug 6486893 to track this problem. It appears that Windows
no longer accepts the information that I return for INQUIRY page 0x00.
Currently the target supports page 0x00 which returns a list of pages
that it supports and page 0x83. The initiator closes the connection
after this information is returned. It promptly opens the connection
again and issues the INQUIRY page 0x00 command again, and repeats this
cycle.
The hunt is on!

My bad. Is there an open bug we can point people at?

Torrey, you must have missed part of this conversation. When I did my
original putback into build 44 of Solaris Nevada I had tested with
Windows and it worked just fine. Several people who started to use the
target with Windows reported that it didn't work. I scratched my head
since I had a Windows machine in my office that was connecting without
any problems. Due to some changes in the hardware that I have
available I got a different Windows machine which didn't have the
initiator loaded. So, I downloaded Microsoft's latest and greatest. At
that point I started noticing the same problems that others had seen.
I sent a note out to the alias to let folks know that I had finally
reproduced the problem and that I would be working on it.
Unfortunately, I'm not sitting on my backside just waiting for work to
fall out of the sky and need to prioritize things. I consider this a
high priority problem, but not the highest on my plate right now.

The iSCSI target running on Solaris should work with a Windows
initiator. If not...then it's a bug.

Thanks. When the iSCSI target works with Windows it will be a great
way to get Solaris back into my organization. I have been showing
project managers the specs of the "thumper" servers and they are
excited about the server's capabilities. We were pretty bummed when
the iSCSI target wouldn't work with Windows. Thanks again for your
work.
