With Ethereal, I can see it idling, with the Target sending "NOP In (0x20)", 
the Initiator replying "NOP Out (0x00)", and the Target "ACK"ing.  This repeats 
every 30 seconds.  
Then if you do something to generate activity, like a DIR on the disk, the 
initiator sends a "SCSI-Read", and the target replies with a "SCSI-Data In 
(0x25)". It's the "StatSN" field value in this packet, that the initiator does 
not seem to like.
