Specific changes, or more specifically bug fixes, that are only in OpenSolaris are utilized by the source code contained in the OpenSolaris Project: Sun StorageTek Availability Suite's source code. Second, the means to support AVS 4.0 (the product) on Solaris 10u3, and also AVS OpenSource on Solaris 10u3, would be problematic, so restricting that Solaris verisons on which the AVS OpenSource code seemed to be the best solution.
