Yes, the LSISAS1068 is supported by the mpt driver.
Has been for ages.

I don't see what your problem is, you don't indicate at all.

mpt(7d) is a closed driver, but it is part of with OpenSolaris...
what are you actually concerned about here?

If you want to manage the Dell-VIRTUALDISK-1028 then
I suggest you investigate the raidctl(1m) command.
