I guess I've had my head down in the code for mpt for so long that I just assumed everybody else would know that too. The card(s) which most people expect to work with mpt - but which do not - are the MegaRAID SAS cards. There's a Solaris driver available for them if you contact your Dell rep directly and I believe there are plans to make it available in OpenSolaris really soon. Or you could go for the BSD-licensed mfi driver written by David Gwynne: http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~dlg/mfi > Regarding the lack of source-code for the MPT driver, it's not causing me a > particular problem at this instant. Yup, that's true. I wish it was different, but I'm not in a position to make that happen. > Some drivers are moving to open source, like the Emulex FC HBA driver: > http://www.emulex.com/press/2007/0919-01.jsp > Is the MPT driver written by Sun? Yes. > Does the code belong to someone else? No. Cheers, James C.
