I guess I've had my head down in the code for mpt for so long
that I just assumed everybody else would know that too.

The card(s) which most people expect to work with mpt - but
which do not - are the MegaRAID SAS cards.

There's a Solaris driver available for them if you contact
your Dell rep directly and I believe there are plans to make
it available in OpenSolaris really soon. Or you could go for
the BSD-licensed mfi driver written by David Gwynne:

Yup, that's true. I wish it was different, but I'm not in
a position to make that happen.
