OK.  Maybe this is a bug in snv_b77.  There are some other issues  
with smb browsing the snv_b77 that are fixed in b78 see:

http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6615221

Maybe a related issue?

I'll have to go look and see if snv_b77 comes with the firewall turn  
on? And whether all services required are up and running...
