Yes, the 'TargetName' key/value pair is one of the important ones during iSCSI login. As the RFC3720 standard (Section 12.4) says: "The initiator of the TCP connection MUST provide this key" so you would expect the initiator to do this! It will be good if the Solaris iscsi target can avoid a core dump if 'TargetName' is missing, and handle the error more gracefully! I'm not seeing this issue registered in the Bugs database at the moment, but maybe it's still working it's way through the system. Lets hope the new Comstar iscsi target, currently being written by another Sun team, can pick up on these small bugs at an earlier stage!
