Hi Andrew I used to get that message: "WARNING: detected unsupported configuration: non-empty bridge " .. on my Dell PC a few builds ago on Nevada. But it never caused me any problems. The message has gone away in more recent builds. See this bug: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6573171
I think it might be useful to see the output from "prfconf -D" as this shows the hierarchy of devices in a sort of tree view and also says which driver is being used. This should show how the pci-X bus is connected into the rest of the system. I seem to remember last year, someone else was have a hang at an early stage in booting, and I think there is some procedure to try to diagnose this, but I do not have time tonight to search & try to find the thread...
