I just could not resist taking a look at the code
to try to figure out how to fix this issue.

It turns out I don't need to do much, as it is already fixed!
(In, of course, Nevada, and not Solaris 10u4)

Here it is:
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/diff/onnv/onnv-gate/usr/src/cmd/iscsi/iscsitgtd/iscsi_login.c?r2=%2Fonnv%2Fonnv-gate%2Fusr%2Fsrc%2Fcmd%2Fiscsi%2Fiscsitgtd%2Fiscsi_login.c%405228&r1=%2Fonnv%2Fonnv-gate%2Fusr%2Fsrc%2Fcmd%2Fiscsi%2Fiscsitgtd%2Fiscsi_login.c%404568

Here is the bug:
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6587811
It looks like the issue was discovered as part of
"WHQL - SCSI Compliance Failures" testing.
It looks like we need that thank Microsoft for this!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WHQL_Testing

It was fixed in Nevada back in October 2007, build snv_76.

James, assuming you have a Solaris support contract,
I would recommend you raise this issue with Sun,
and ask then for a patch for Solaris 10u4.
Best Regards
Nigel Smith
