There are a few things missing. The pieces that are currently missing we classify as 'platform'. Right now Honeycomb is based on Solaris10 and we can't redistribute those images. We also have an overlay for the switches which we are working on providing. Also we would like to redistribute the HADB packages. For the overlay and HADB it will likely just be the binary pieces. We are working on converting over to Nevada/OpenSolaris and when that is complete we will be able to build install images etc. However, the important thing to note is that all of our special sauce is in the open. The RAIN architecture, multicell, etc are all there. You will be able to build the honeycomb packages and also build the open edition (a stand alone pure java implementation of the Honeycomb protocol). If you own a ST5800 device there is enough out there now that in combination with this source you will be able to develop and push your own custom bits to a cluster. We've also just set up a developer alias: hc-dev at opensolaris dot org peter _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
