Thanks all for your help, things are working as expected now (and as a side 
effect another strange issue I was having is also now fixed).  Adding it to 
scsi_vhci.conf worked...wish it weren't so buried in the docs.  (And the iSCSI 
Solaris docs don't really reference it.)

Nigel, I couldn't get your link to load, not sure if it was a docs.sun problem.

Good point. That's the more likely reason why it isn't showing up as an 
mpxio device, rather than a bad or missing logical unit identifier (VPD 
83h) as I mentioned in a previous response. More information on 
scsi_vhci.conf changes and scsi_vhci requirements for multipathing 
support for a device can be found at:
