Thank you for your feedback, it is important to make clear why we need these tunables. My impression is that those responsible for deciding on what to integrate have not yet understood why we do need tunables (yes, that's one case where I find it frustrating that OpenSolaris development still is not fully community-governed). On the technical side: I agree that, in a final implementation, the tunables should be managed using iscsiadm or similar.
