Ok Jim. Thanks for that. I think I understand now. So you are saying that because in the initiators Login packet, because the 'InitiatorName' occurs AFTER the 'TargetName', that at the time the 'TargetName' is processed, the 'InitiatorName' is unknown.
So currently the Solaris iscsi target processes the key-value pairs in the order they are seen, rather than parsing them all, and then taking a decision. Ok, so the fix for Frank's problem is to wait for: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6800065 ..or get the 'OSX GlobalSAN' people to change the order of the key-value pairs in their Login packet, so that 'InitiatorName' comes before 'TargetName'.
