ndmpcopy disk-to-disk is normally used 3-way, for local, there is no point to 
use ndmpcopy. What is the problem/errors you get during 3-way ndmpcopy?

Current ndmp uses ZFS snapshot during backup: create/destroy snapshot before 
and after backup succeeded/aborted. Currently 'zfs send' is not used in ndmp 
and it's not on our roadmap. One possibility could be using ZFS send instead of 
tar, dump to benefit from fast block level backup. The downside is DAR and 
selective restores wouldnt work, but it would work for FULL dataset backup and 
restore.
