Hi Mike et all,

I know I’m late, but at least I kept my promise J. Overall I am very happy with
my decision. Speed is very good and I have almost twice the space I would have
got with a 6140.

Somewhat complex.

There is a "CAM" software install to make the thing tick. You can run this
on an existing host. We have it running on a dedicated host since we have
so many arrays. I let the Local Sun team deal with this since I'm not a
solaris expert. It is part of the install, they also upgrade this for free
when I ask.

The array is pretty easy to setup. The hardest part is getting an IP on it
via the serial console. I've done it once, but my hardware team has done
them since then.

One of my colleges on the west cost bought his first 2540. He could not use
my install directions since he was on the newest version of CAM and we are
done a couple revisions.

Do you have existing Fibre Channel switches?

I almost always pay for install services for anything that is a first for
me.
