Matthias,
Got same issue here with vista , e1000g and svn_111.
iSCSI network port are connected thru 1 wire.
I Disabled the Receive Window Auto Tuning Level in Vista but
without success.
I get excellent read performance on iscsi disk (near 90Mo/s on
Gigabit) and poooor on write (around 2Mo).
Any sugestion?
What iSCSI Target are you using as there is the old iSCSI Target
Daemon, and the new iSCSI Target in COMSTAR.
# svcs -a | egrep "iscsi\/target|iscsitgt"
disabled May_18 svc:/network/iscsi/target:default
disabled May_18 svc:/system/iscsitgt:default
The first one listed above is COMSTAR, the second one is the daemon.
Note that you can't run both at the same time.
On Windows, are you writing into a cached filesystem, RAID volume, or
JBOD?
What type of read, writes, or both are you doing?
Small or large block I/Os, random or sequential I/O?
What tool or means are you using to get these numbers?
What is the speed of your network? 10GigE, 1GigE, 100Mb?
What is the (network) distance between iSCSI Initiator and Target, as
seen by both 'ping' and 'traceroute'?
On OpenSolaris, what is the configured backing store type?
If a ZVOL, what type of storage pool?
If a ZFS storage pool, what type of vdev, or vdevs.
