Hi,
I am working on SCSI hotplugging on opensolaris and testing the system to
replace a disk/remove a disk/add a disk without rebooting the system to
recognize the newly added disks/removed disks.
I am using the cfgadm tool which supports hotplugging, this is an
administration tool available on solaris >= 7 which is used to perform the
above operations on SCSI bus.
drvconfig on Solaris 2.6-2.8 only sees disks which are added dynamically, but
doesn't recognize the disk being removed.
I am getting an error when I wanted to remove a disk from a SCSI bus, by using
the following command:-
# cfgadm -x remove_device c1::dsk/c1t1d0
Removing SCSI device: /devices/p...@1f,0/p...@1/s...@1,1/s...@1,0
This operation will suspend activity on SCSI bus: c1
continue: (yes/no)? y
cfgadm: Hardware specific failure: SCSI bus quiesce failed : I/O error

Some administrators might have used this, so just thought to check with you all.
if anybody is familiar with this tool or any other tool which supports
hotplugging, please let me know.

thanks
