Hello, I am new to OpenSolaris however not new to linux/unix. I have been looking into building a custom SAN for my company and have thought about using Open Solaris. I have looked into OpenFiler which is essentially a web gui for tools built into linux but I don't feel like there is a whole bunch of support, also I am not a fan of the snapshotting features. ZFS however interests me, but I am not sure if this will work in this situation. I am planning to use Vmware ESXI to connect to this system via iscsi. I will be building two of these boxes for High availability in the case one of the machines fails. I guess my question is, is open solaris applicable in this situation or is openfiler a better bet.
Thanks, Greg -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ storage-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/storage-discuss
