The BIOS/firmware combination above came from X4150's v3.0.0 Tools&Drivers
ISO, but seems compatible with what J4400 docs specify for MPxIO:
LSI 1068E p/n: 375-3487-02 or newer
LSI 1068E BIOS: 6.24.00.00 (2008.07.01)
LSI 1068E f/w: 1.26.00.00-IT
Except the LSI BIOS I have is slightly newer.
Docs for the J4500 require newer LSI firmware:
LSI 1068E p/n: 375-3487-02 or newer
LSI 1068E BIOS: 6.24.00.00 (2008.07.01)
LSI 1068E f/w: 1.26.03.00-IT
The download package from the LSI site for Sun HBA's has the above
BIOS and firmware, package dated 14-May-2009, so that explains why
the newer X4150 ISO has newer LSI BIOS, although why it doesn't
also have the newer LSI firmware is a bit puzzling.
Anyway, I tried updating the HBA to 1.26.03.00 firmware, leaving the
newer 6.26.00.00 BIOS in place, with no change in behavior (i.e. still
no MPxIO enabled). Same was true after putting the 6.24.00.00 BIOS
on the HBA with the newer LSI firmware.
So, any ideas what's wrong? I've seen others here saying they have
multipathing working with Solaris-10 and J4000 products.
Thanks and regards,
Marion
