stmsboot -e, then rebooted.

Also verified it's supposedly enabled, reconfig-rebooted multiple times, etc.

# egrep -v '^#' /kernel/drv/mpt.conf

ddi-vhci-class="scsi_vhci";

tape="sctp";
mpxio-disable="no";
disable-sata-mpxio="no";
# stmsboot -e

and re-invoke with -D { fp | mpt } to specify which controllers you wish
to modify your multipathing configuration for.

STMS is already enabled. No changes or reboots needed
# stmsboot -L
stmsboot: MPxIO is not enabled
# mpathadm list lu
