This is a long shot, but I have a Dell SC440 system, and it won't boot
the 2008.11 install CD with >=4GB RAM installed. Try removing RAM
down to 2GB and see if that helps. It won't run X11 with the extra
RAM, and since Caiman is a graphics only installer, you're stuck.
Once the OS is installed, you can disable GDM and use the text console:
svcadm disable gdm
Then add your RAM back in. Hope this gets you going.

Hi again,
I tested, and same error..
Maybe i need to configure something in the Bios of the system? Maybe
disable DRAC module or something like that..
If you have any more tips, please let me know..

Hello,
I recently got a new hardware, a Dell R710 with 2 Intel Xeon E5506
(2.13GHZ), with 2 SAS internal disks with the Dell SAS 6/iR, and
16GB ram.
I tried to install opensolaris 2008.11 ,yes. i know, a old one,
but that's we need this specific version for now, the boot process
from the CD hangs. It hangs right after the Sun0S Release logo,
and doesn't go any further.
If i take a look to the Solaris OS HCL , i see that this system is
certified for Solaris 10 05/09, http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/systems/details/30978.html
.
Does this means that i really need to use the Opensolaris 2009.06
version and not the 2008.11 ?
2008.11 had issues with the Dell KVM hardware. You should be able
to boot with a direct attached keyboard and mouse.
