For some strange reason, Supermicro sets default mode for those SAS controllers to software raid. You can reset the jumper to IT mode and flush firmware.
I have a different board, with same onboard SAS. 1. You can reset jumper to IT mode, but any SAS/SATA attached to it is not bootable (no controller BIOS), however, OS does see the disks attached to it. 2. If you want the controller to be bootable, you need to flush firmware.
