Hi Jun, Thank's for locating that bug number. Yes, that sounds to be the problem I'm reporting here.
I see the bugs has been set to 'Not a Defect'. I think I would argue that it is a defect, and should be fixed in some way. But I guess it's seen by Sun as being low priority at this stage. I would not claim to be a CHAP expert, but as I understand it, the targetchapsecret is used for bidirectional chap. So if you wanted to revert to unidirectional chap, then you would want the ability to unset the targetchapsecret.
