Interesting! Thanks so much for the note. I inherited the OpenSolaris
infrastructure (the guy who was working on it is leaving), and he's got
the X25-E's as ZIL's in many of our OpenSolaris systems that are already
running. Is there a better choice that doesn't cost $6k? :)
I'd expect the data loss to at least be better than enabling the RAM-level
write cache.. is there a test available for this specific case, to try
different configs and see how much data is lost?

Choosing the right ZIL devices is essential for data integrity. Same goes for
data disks (cache flush).
