Just a note.. I've been having these mpt problems with a LSI SAS1068E
PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS. Problems happen under both 1.26 and 1.29

From what I've observed, the consistent feature of this
problem (where no SAS expanders are involved) is the
use of WD disk drives.
Interesting, I had not seen a reference to WD drives before with this
issue. We are using WD RE4-GP drives with 04.05G05 firmware.
The WD Compatibility Summary lists the LSI 1068E as a tested compatible
controller for these drives.
A colleague is also considering ZFS and also is also using LSI 1068E but
with Seagate drives and has not encountered the problem.
