Many moons ago, we moved controllers between some of our 6140s and CSM200s
(IIRC, turning 4 6140s w/1TB disks into 2 6140/CSM200 pairs and then
moving the controllers we'd freed up into some CSM200s w/500GB drives).
Ever since, we have a problem where CAM installed on a single host can't
manage all of these devices. Specifically, it can manage any 6140s that
weren't part of the controller swapping, but if you add two 6140s that
(presumably) have controllers that were at one time part of the same unit,
you see the same array name twice and can only really manage one of them.

Completely reinstalling CAM, even installing it on another machine that
had never had CAM installed before doesn't help. We've been working
around it by managing some arrays from one CAM host and some from another.

At one point a Sun field engineer said that this "ghosting" could be
fixed, but that it involved a full array reset (i.e. losing all data
and configuration info on the 6140s), so we didn't pursue it. Now we're
going to be reconfiguring, so I thought I might have a go at it.

The questions are: has anyone else ever seen this? Is "array reset"
sufficient to fix the problem or is that only part of it?

Thanks in advance for any help,
