Yes, some people did receive a "Bankruptcy Letter". And it was unfortunate
to have the news posted in such a flame-ish fashion. Stormix is still
operational, they are just a little shy on cash at the moment. They are in
the process of securing additional investment money, which seemed like it
was going well last I heard, just taking a little longer than expected due
to the current attitude in the stock market towards Linux (and technology
stocks in general). The letter was sent out for legal reasons due to the
possibility of bankruptcy, but wasn't any sort of official announcement of
bankruptcy (er, I'm not a lawyer, but that's how I heard it ...).

The shortage of monies is the reason why the FTP server is down - it's quite
expensive to maintain the vast amounts of bandwidth the server uses. I
imagine it will resume when the new investment is secured (perhaps in less
than a week).

Hmm, and don't take my word as official news, I'm just an ex-Stormix
employee (who left for career change reasons and not because of the
financial situation nor the excellent quality of the workers/work at
Stormix). Perhaps there will be some mention of this in the Linux news
shortly, as Stormix will be conspicously absent from the upcoming Linux
World Expo in New York next week.
