Dear All

In Ulaanbaatar as in much of the coal industry ash determination is made by all
the labs at 830 C in the presence of air, volatiles having been determined at
420 or so. There is still come carbonates in the ash.

Prof Lodoysamba has constructed a few machines about the size of a CPU that can
measure the ash content, directly by nuclear methods, of a sample in a few
seconds without burning it. You can have one for $10k and a nuclear licence.
