Hi Ron, Always remember you making the ceramic TLUD at one of the first Stove Camps!
We've been concentrating on TLUDs for urban folks who are not farming. So by adding lots of bottom air the made charcoal burns adding to the thermal efficiency. The trick is to get the charcoal to immediately burn hot enough that the water stays above 94C and the stove can complete the simmering portion of the WBT on the charcoal burn. That's how the TLUD that Jim Jetter tested got 50% thermal efficiency. Again, great how versatile the TLUD is. All Best, Dean
