[StPaul] Possible Projects for St. Paul E-Democracy

[St. Paul Issues Forum]

Here are a few ideas about how a St. Paul Chapter of E-Democracy 
might better serve the needs of St. Paul and build citizen interest 
and participation in civic life.

PLEASE - post your own ideas
        (or send them to me in private and
         I'll add them to the list)
1) Build a better and more user-friendly space on the
   web to find out about E-Democracy and how to get
   involved in online civic discussions.
2) Use the St. Paul Issues Forum OR create a new
   service that increases communication about neighborhood
   issues in St. Paul and helps facilitate communication
   between district council and community leaders around
   our city.
3) Organize training sessions for citizens, elected officials,
   and community leaders on how to use E-Democracy tools to
   effectively and efficiently interact with citizens or to
   build their own community based online forums.
4) Provide topic based forums or lists. For example:

    - St. Paul School District Issues List
    - A city-wide Block Club Leaders List
    - A St. Paul Announcement List
    - A St. Paul Home and Garden List ??
    - Share your ideas for new lists........

5) Doing outreach to communities who are underrepresented
   in our forums and in the overall civic life of St. Paul.
   Using our technologies (current and new) to draw
   them into public policy discussions in a way that is
   comfortable for them.
6) Increasing the amount and quality of information
   that is available about candidates in local political
   races.
