Please Introduce Yourself What's your connection to St. Paul public schools? mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________ Hello, all -- I'm Anne Carroll, and below is my reintroduction, as moderator Tim Erickson has requested: I was born and raised in St. Paul, have lived in Mac-Groveland, SE and south Mpls, Selby-Dale, a brief stint in Falcon Heights where I served on the Planning Commission, and Highland, as well as elsewhere in the U.S. and western Europe; returned here for our kids to get a great education and for our daughter to benefit from better opportunities for girls/women. Graduated from Groveland Elem; kids benefited from our great choice system and went to Jackson Elementary, Highland Junior, and now both are at Highland Senior. Have been active on several school site-based decision making councils, produced a school newspaper for many years, regular school volunteer, and am always engaged in a variety of "causes." Self-employed consultant in strategic planning, public involvement, and communications. Elected in 1999 to the St. Paul School Board and reelected in 2003 (thanks, St. Paul!). Have been in every school building for extensive visits, and regularly get into schools/programs throughout the district (all 7 Bd members are elected citywide, at-large). As always, feel free to contact me privately by phone, fax, or email as noted below. Thanks to Tim Erickson and others for launching the St. Paul Issues Forum, and especially for this and other timely topics. I look forward to participating! -- Anne Carroll ___________________________________________ Anne R.
