Here lies the problem in the debate on Gay Marriage, when people think of marriage
they think of sex. The government's relationship with marriage has nothing to do with
sex. It creates a legal partnership that exists in all transactions between the
parties. That is the essence of the legal governmental contract of marriage a legal
partnership of TWO people. It means that the two people share property and positions
by a legal assumption. So, a married person buys a house, both persons in the
marriage own the house even if the second one had no idea that the first one went out
and bought it. It is a contractual relationship that is assumed in all transactions
by either party.

All gay couples are asking for is the same contractual relationships that hetro
couples are able to enjoy given to them by the state. It does not have one thing to
do about what anyone can or can't do in bed.

So, get your minds out of the gutter, quit thinking about the dirty dead, and think
about the legal partnership that is created by that piece of paper. If you focus only
on that instead of who does what to whom in the bedroom, the issue becomes very tame.
And, at that point I would guess most people would have little or no problem with two
people creating a private partnership on all legal transactions, which is what a legal
marriage is.
