Nonsense! Mayor Kelly's original rationale for a veto
of the Saint Paul smoking ban was that St. Paul
wouldn't be on a level playing field. Well in the same
period, between his veto and the override vote,
Bloomington and Minneapolis have leveled the field.
The rationale for the veto has disappeared.

Now will Mayor Kelly be man enough to go to the
Council and say, "My original rationale for the veto
is now gone. Override my veto."

My money says Kelly won't do it, because his real
reason was always to cozy up to the bars, (and I'll
say it for the 10th time), whose support he needs for
his beloved Dayton Circle Twins Stadium.
