That's what IRV is. What could be simpler than numbering your choices on your first trip to the polls? > If no-one > gets a majority of votes cast, then go to a run-off > election between the top two candidates two weeks (or > 30 days maybe) after the first election. There might > be some expense involved but I, for one, think it > would be worth it. I sincerely appreciate your willingness to go the extra mile to afford all citizens the opportunity to register their voter preference, but I'm glad it wasn't someone from the Green Party who suggested holding two elections where one would do, because we'd be fighting off charges of fiscal extravagance and outlandish idealism. But I'm gaining some insight into how this nomination/endorsement process, including a nominating convention AND a primary election, might have originated. - Guy Western the West Side _____________________________________________ To Join: St. Paul Issues Forum Rules Discussion Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _____________________________________________ NEW ADDRESS FOR LIST: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/
