There is a public hearing today (Thursday) afternoon at 3:30 p.m., regarding the site plan for the proposed Aldi's grocery store at Lexington and University. The hearing is in front of the Zoning Committee of the St. Paul Planning Commission, in the City Council chambers at City Hall. It is the last item of 5 on the agenda. University UNITED encourages people to come and voice their opinions about the proposed Aldi's site plan.
UNITED believes that the proposed Aldi's store is not transit-oriented development, which is the clearly stated goal in the Comprehensive Plan, and that the redevelopment plan for the entire site should be approved as a package, rather than piecemeal.
