There is an organization called Democrats for Life and Randy C. Kelly is one of its members.
Dave Shove's allegation is that when Vance Opperman doesn't like the candidate nominated/endorsed by the St. Paul DFL by whatever process, he contributes heavily to the opposition. That's a nasty little internal dynamic for the DFL to overcome. I hope someday the St. Paul DFL relieves itself of the stranglehold of big money interests from across the river, but that's one of the reasons I joined the Green Party. In short, I wish you DFLers luck with your internal DFL problem, but it's not my problem. I would be far more concerned to find, for example, that my St. Paul Green Party was receiving heavy contributions from a Democrat in order to leverage us into taking sides in the DFL's internal, factional squabbles--squabbles with factions like Democrats for Life, for instance. - Guy Western the West Side > [Original Message] > From: Andy Driscoll <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: St. Paul Discuss <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: 8/4/04 11:49:54 AM > Subject: Re: [StPaul] Kelly is No Democrat for Life > > All in the mind of the spouter, I guess. > > Getting past the vindictive regurgitation, Vance Opperman's role is damned > well important to all of St. Paul when he shows up as the largest > contributor to the St. Paul Chamber PAC that endorsed and funded > conservative candidates for Council and Mayor, including Christine Nelson, > Debbie Montgomery and Kris Reiter, not to mention this Mayor.
