Yes. I regularly use the 94 Express bus, and the 50 and 16 routes. I don't believe putting a light rail system in the 94 corridor will increase stops along the corridor, but would simply help destinations at the end of the routes (Union Depot, Capitol, Metrodome...if it's still there in 2016). Further no one uses the intermittent stops currently on 94...walking three to six blocks in either direction is not realistic to get to University or Marshall, and there are no desitnations on those north-south streets. The whole landscape would need to be reengineered for pedestrian use on those connector streets, or there would have to be increased feeder bus lines along Hamline, Lexington, etc., which people won't use, or we would need more parking for increased traffic. I currently take the 74 to get to the LRT at 46th Street, and on each occasion, there are maybe 1-3 passengers after or/before the Highland Park stops. I asked my wife if she would take a bus to take a train, and she said no. Too much complication. I think that's a common perspective. We need to actually attract people to use a transit system that's clean, attractive, convenient and economical, and will one that will economically benefit local businesses. I think that could be University Avenue, and the system would spur other types of develop along the corridor. I don't see any subsidiary development along a 94 route, and perhaps you'd have fewer car trips along that corridor, but that's not worth the investment.
