Gerry nice try to rewrite history. First, the only ones I see name calling are Mayor Kelly, Dan Bostrom and now you.
Dan Bostrom said he was replaced because the 4 progressives "hated" Mayor Kelly and refused to "go along with a charade", Mayor Kelly a Democrat who backs a reactionary Republican President calls the 4 progressives on the Council who are loyal to their party "extremists" and now you accuse me of being "vitriolic", because I used the word "miffed". Gerry. I answered the original question, and then you try to obfuscate my answer by talking about different housing projects and projects that have been announced AFTER JERRY LEFT OFFICE. Again what about the Penumbra on Selby, what about University and Lexington, what about the old bus barn at University and Snelling and what about University and Dale. The Faust was torn down, 8 or 10 years ago, and the lot has stood empty, except for those open air shelters for the past 6+ years. For Jerry to now try and take credit for the Rondo Library now is silly. The Rondo Library Plan came to fruition, this year AFTER DEBBIE MONTGOMERY came to office. You write, "Selby and Victoria - Minority developer, city loan guarantee, in the process of being pre-sold." Again this is nonsense to give Jerry credit for anything. This is still an empty lot, 2 blocks from Jerry's house and remains so 10 years after Jerry took office and a year after Jerry left office, for Jerry to now take any credit is ridiculous. You write, "University and Lex - Wellington and the city (including Jerry) have been working on this project since the Home Depot deal fell through". Again this lot still remains vacate a year after Jerry left office and Steve Wellington made his announcement to redevelop this property several months after Debbie Montgomery came into office. You never answered my question why Lexington Avenue from Summit to Como Park, has beautiful trees and landscaping, while when Dale Street was reconstructed thru the 'hood it was made a concrete jungle. I don't have the time and energy to track down all of your misrepresentations here, but these three examples, that I personally know about, show that you are trying to re-write history and give Blakey credit for projects that have come on line after you two left office. I think it is unfortunate that you feel necessary to try and re-write history.
