Much of this debate is predicated on the belief that one side has been wholly 
reasonable and the other wholly unreasonable.  Considering that no one contested 
Jeanne's 8/26 report of the behavior of the ordinance opposition it is interesting 
that anyone on this list serve would argue that the stubborness exists on only one 
side of the table.
 
I also think it's interesting that no one answered Jeanne's e-mail about whether or 
not the new ordinance met the criteria laid out in the Mayor's previous veto message.  
Since the ordinance will be signed or vetoed by the Mayor, this is the debate relevant 
to the passage of the policy.
 
The major concerns related to the inclusion of smoking rooms and the exclusion of a 
regional approach.  Those concerns have both been met.
