I don't understand the comment "what would be the
point of voting in a primary where there is no race?".

I voted in the primary, even thou there was no
contest, in any of the races on my side of the ballot.

Does this poster contend that in those areas, where
there is no primary contest, we should simply cancel
the primary election?

There is all kinds of ranting on this board, and other
similar ones, about "insiders" and "party hacks"
controlling the electoral process. Primary elections
are one way that parties and "insiders" do not control
the process. They help keep an honest balance to
elections. Yet, here comes someone suggesting that we
do away with primaries.

I voted in the primary, because it was there, it was
my civic duty, and because I never want to be accused
of always voting for one party, hee, hee, hee.
