I live two houses off Fairview and the restriping thing is definitely viewed as a mixed bag by the neighbors. On the one hand it's easier to turn left off of Fairview into your street without getting rear-ended but it's much more difficult to cross Fairview or turn left or right onto it because there aren't frequent breaks in the traffic like there use to be.
My spouse and I have taken to whipping through the side streets down to a light on Fairview to merge onto it. Biking on Fairview is a stupidly dangerous thing to do, use Prior instead, and my kids are no longer allowed to cross Fairview unless they walk down to a light. Fortunately there is a light at the new Caribou Coffee.... Bottom line: restriping has done a good job of cutting the neighborhood in half but turning left off of Fairview is much easier. Oh, and traffic volume is the same but slower and heavier. _____________________________________________ To Join: St. Paul Issues Forum Rules Discussion Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _____________________________________________ NEW ADDRESS FOR LIST: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/
