What's On Your Ballot? Find out......

-----------------------------------------

The Ramsey County Soil and Water Conservation Board, which thankfully just
changed its name to Ramsey Conservation District, has 5 supervisors. 3 are
up for election this year. You can read about the board and their
responsibilities at:
http://www.ramseyconservation.org/swcd/home.html

I am supporting Gwen Willems and Marj Ebensteiner, two women I have worked
with many times over the years, and Joe Fox, who is unopposed. Marj and Joe
are incumbents and Gwen is running for an open seat. One of the strange
things about these elections is that even though each supervisor represents
the district they live in, they are elected County wide. This makes
campaigning difficult and costly.

Gwen Willems, a program evaluator for the U of Mn and Mn Extension, brings
years of multicultural communications leadership and a passion for the
environment. Her experience in public relations will help make the board
more visible - so maybe we won't have to ask these questions. Marj has
worked hard to make the board more accountable and to expand the scope of
projects they undertake.

Just my endorsement, for what it's worth.
