Ortega announces campaign for St. Paul mayor

Well, not much of a surpize.. you generally don't call a press conference at the Union Depot (Railway central, I think you see what he has in mind) to say your not gonna run.

I have briefly meet Mr Ortega, actually had him forced on my by Denny Hill as they door knocked in the hood a few years back :-) ....

Found him to be a likeable enough person.... Ozzing with persona, not .....

Make a good mayor? not sure don't know a whole lot about him other than he has been working on the Transit issues.

Likely hood of getting DFL nomination, high.

Likely hood of defeating the Kelly machine, should he decide to seek a second term, low.

I really didn't think Kelly was the kinda personal salesman that "Stormin" Norm Coleman was, but apparently he is or has become, like Coleman did, and build a heck of a following. A following with very deep pockets, kinda like Coleman...

Kelly will be a tough nut to crack, gonna take a special kind of person to be able to unseat him (of course should he decide to run, which according to reports he hasn't.. yea and I have a bridge over the Mississippi for sale too.)
