As many of you are aware I have been working to liquidate the estate of
a dear friend of mine since her death in May. She was a shopper and a
keeper. When something new came in, nothing went out, the old was moved
over to make room. When my friend had her kitchen redone ten years ago
she moved her then 2-year-old stove to the basement. So at the end of
the day, there was this 12 year old newish stove in the basement which
NO ONE wanted to buy. After a garage sale and 3 days of estate sales,
the gas stove was still sitting in the basement. I put an ad in the PP,
not a lot of excitement there either. I hired two people to haul it out
of the basement. It was awkward and difficult to get up the steps and
by the time it was out of the basement I made the executive decision it
was going to the alley to take up residence next to the dumpster.

The next day a lady called in response to the ad in the paper. I told
her to go get it out of the alley, get it OUT of my life. A couple of
days later I got the following card.. "To the owner of the property at
710 Goodrich: Thanks so much for the lovely gas stove. We have not
been able to afford a stove for over a year so this is greatly
appreciated. Merry Christmas"

Bumped ..and humbled.
