Saint Paul plugging its caves makes about as much sense as Aspen bulldozing
its mountains. Wouldn't want any more people skiing headlong into trees.
So caves aren't a billion dollar industry, but it doesn't mean they don't
have value. Thousands of person-hours went into making them.

Just pound iron rods into the sandstone and weld old jail cell doors to
them. Air and bats and spelunkers and tourists can get through, but no
terrorists or teenagers.

I thought I heard some old homes were bulldozed into some caves. If
there's nice bricks and hinges and doorknobs in there, they could be
reused. DB just told me that his ancestors' home was built with bricks
that came from the demolished Davis School, which stood on Jefferson -
where do all the old bricks go, I wonder...

As for gambling revenues, it seems to me that the governor and mayor, et
al, are trying harder to find new sources of money instead of trying to
stop the reason we're not getting as much Federal funds as we used to.

"I said, WAR! Huh! Good God y'all!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothin'! Say it again."
      -Edwin Starr

Since Mayor Kelly is so friendly with Dubya, maybe we should start the
national anti-war demonstrations in front of City Hall. Behead a few
Charlie Browns to get the point across.

Dear Everybody,

Maybe there are things in those caves that certain
individuals do not want the general public finding out
about. Maybe that is why they are getting sealed.
Just a thought that entered my mind.

I would pay a reasonable fee to have an official tour
of the caves. I agree with Miss Tegwen on that idea.
