Mike Fratto's turtle story reminded me of one of my
own. A few years ago I was returning home from work,
driving along Argenta Trail Road along side Sunfish
Lake. As I came around a curve just North of the
bridge over I494 I saw dozens of small baby turtles
attempting to cross the road. I stopped and helped
some get across and went on. Later that night I saw a
few of the same kind of turtle trying to get across
West Seventh Street. Apparently, it was some kind of
seasonal phenomenon. All the turtles of this
particular species hatching at about the same time and
all of them trying to get somewhere at that time.
Sadly, many of the poor things never made it across
streets. They don't adapt well to an urban environment
I guess.

Another peak experience was seeing a beautiful fox
along County Road C in Roseville by some swampy land
just West of 35W.
