That will go nicely with my Organic Vapor Respirator and Beatles' Butcher
Cover Lab Coat! Gray, Red, and White with Black trim, please. Thank you.

PS I've been thinking about the $1MM ice palace built for ten days, versus
a $5MM to $15MM (?) brick castle, built for 500 years or more... hmm... In
a perfect world, there would be counter-vulcans (oh, I now see I never sent
my Carnival piece in reply to Bob S... in short, counter- or anti-vulcans
are chaste men in white who cruise around in white Rolls Royce
convertibles, saving the world and giving away diamonds, aka "ice", which,
ironically, is carbon, the stuff of soot), who would come forward and save
the day. Then the construction guys would rebuild with clay and not water.
So I'll go ahead and add "Winter Carnival" to the list of potential
festivals (St. George's Day is Sat 23 Apr 05, btw)... All the noise oughta
keep the housing to a reasonable number, although the King Of Flakes likes
his merry band of men in tights to whisper. They're kinda modelled after
Orlando Bloom in TLOTR. They'd be all gay, too, so they would have a
certain amount of class and any groping would be met with the offendee's
fist.

02/16/2005 08:40 [StPaul] Invitation, Friday morning
AM
Please join the residents of West Seventh Street for what will hopefully be
one last
moment of protest over the production of ethanol in our neighborhood.
Friday morning
shortly before 9:00 a.m., we will gather at the back entrance of the Gopher
State Ethanol
plant (882 West 7th Street) to welcome those who come to bid on the
property at the
bankruptcy court ordered auction. We will do so with the intent of letting
anyone who
might have the wacky notion that ethanol production could be restarted
exactly what we
think of the idea.
One would hope that potential bidders would have figured out that ethanol
production
would be a really bad idea and will stay away. But we can never tell, and
we want to
make sure that such a bidder would get a taste of what might be in store
should they try.
The MPCA has already indicated that they would transfer the expired air
quality permit
to whoever filled out an Administrative Application for change of ownership
and that the
MPCA âwould issue this amendment with no public notice and the new owner
[would
be] free to operate the plant.â
Please consider yourself invited to what will hopefully be the last time we
have to deal
with this issue. Because there are good developers out there who would
look seriously at
historically sensitive reuse, we wonât be screaming at all of the potential
bidders who
appear on Friday, just the ones who have more money than sense.
See you on James Street shortly before 9:00 a.m.
And I have a special sign for Andrew Hine that will say âArts, not Farts.â
